Position Overview

As a Ride Leader, you’ll lead engaging and safe bike tours for diverse community groups. From scenic rides along the Parramatta River to cultural discovery tours, you’ll play a key role in fostering a love for cycling while promoting active and sustainable lifestyles.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and lead bike tours, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all participants.
• Develop routes highlighting Parramatta’s natural and cultural landmarks.
• Provide guidance and support to riders of all skill levels, particularly beginners.
• Perform pre-ride safety checks on bicycles and equipment.
• Ensure participants are equipped with essential safety gear, such as helmets and lights.
• Cultivate an inclusive, positive atmosphere that encourages community engagement.
• Respond appropriately to incidents or emergencies during tours.
• Maintain accurate ride logs, including incident reports when required.

Qualifications and Skills

• Experience leading bike tours or group rides and working with diverse community groups.
• Excellent bike-handling skills and a strong knowledge of safe cycling practices and NSW Road Rules for Bicycle Riders.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR (current).
• Relevant qualifications in Outdoor Leadership or a similar field .
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly, make sound decisions, and manage challenges during rides.
• Passion for promoting cycling, sustainability, and local culture.

Pay: $29.33 – $32.35 per hour

Expected hours: 4 – 8 per week
