Job Type: Full-time, Part-time
Outward Bound Australia is accepting ongoing applications for Group Leader positions as part of our bi-annual intake process. Group Leaders are responsible for facilitating safe, engaging, and high-quality outdoor education programs across a diverse range of environments and participant groups. Our programs vary in length, location, and delivery style, with journey-based outdoor education programs operating throughout the ACT, Victoria, NSW, and WA, alongside centre-based programs delivered from our National Base at Tharwa Campus.
In a Group Leader role, you’ll support the day-to-day delivery of programs, supervise and mentor participants, assist with campcraft and logistics, contribute to risk management practices, and help create positive and inclusive group cultures in the field. You’ll also assist with equipment preparation and maintenance, program setup and pack down, and ensure all activities are delivered in line with organisational safety and wellbeing standards.
We’re looking for someone with experience working in outdoor education and a genuine passion for supporting participant growth through challenging and rewarding experiences in nature. Relevant outdoor qualifications and certifications are required, with training and experience in bushwalking, roping activities, and water-based activities being highly desirable. Strong communication skills, adaptability, teamwork, and a proactive approach to safety and participant wellbeing are essential.
Join a passionate and supportive team committed to creating meaningful experiences that build resilience, confidence, and connection in the outdoors.
