The NPWS Education Officer is an ongoing role and is an Aboriginal identified opportunity. The role is highly rewarding with a strong community focus that supports the delivery of the NPWS Aboriginal Discovery Program, which provides guided experiences that inspire visitors, including school students, to enjoy, understand and care for our shared Aboriginal cultural heritage. We’re looking for a natural co-ordinator, organiser and collaborator who is passionate about making a positive difference through education and cultural connection.

- NSW National Parks & Wildlife is hiring an Education Officer (Aboriginal Identified), a full-time ongoing role at Clerk Grade 7-8.

Salary package: $113,574–$125,720, including superannuation and annual leave loading.

Located in Parramatta, with other locations negotiable.

Aboriginal identity, cultural knowledge, or connections are a genuine and essential aspect of this role.

Lead and coordinate the state-wide Aboriginal Discovery Program, offering guided tours and educational programs led by Aboriginal Rangers.

Develop, implement, and enhance innovative education programs to deepen visitors’ understanding of Aboriginal culture.

Design and manage marketing, promotion, and communication strategies across multiple digital channels to increase engagement and sustainable visitation.

Build and maintain strong relationships with Aboriginal communities, education providers, and key stakeholders.

Deliver authentic cultural experiences that celebrate Aboriginal heritage across NSW national parks.

Manage multiple priorities, monitor program delivery, and support reporting and project management with attention to cultural integrity.

Demonstrated experience in educational, cultural, or community programs, including project planning and delivery.

Must hold a current NSW Driver’s Licence and meet Aboriginal identification requirements under Section 14d of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
