About the role
National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Field Officer to work as part of the team based in Lake Jindabyne Works Depot contributing towards the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and aboriginal heritage.
This role belongs to The Southern Ranges Branch. The Branch manages 98 parks and reserves, including Kosciuszko National Park, the largest park in New South Wales. Our parks are home to the NSW alpine ski resorts, which attract a high number of visitors in the winter months. From the tablelands of the Monaro Plain to the high-altitude alpine areas of Kosciuszko and Brindabella national parks, our branch covers one of the most geographically and biologically diverse areas in the state.
Field Officers assist with a diverse range of activities relating to maintenance and improvement to park assets within NPWS parks and reserves. You will be guided by the senior field staff, in your day-to-day work including pest management, fire management and park management. You will operate and maintain plant and equipment, participate in fire management activities, respond to visitor enquiries and assist with compliance activities as required.
