Outdoor Educator with Whitewater Qualifications

Looking for an additional Outdoor Educator with Whitewater qualifications to join our team.

Particularly needed for:

July 27th - August 4th 2026 - Yr 9 All boys right of passage journey

Sept 14-18th 2026 - Co-ed yr 10 experience

Your role would require you to:

 - To create and guide the process of student-led experience, explain and monitor student roles and responsibilities, facilitate front-loading and debriefing of activities and group forming processes.

 - To monitor and positively influence group energy, motivation, productivity and wellbeing from wake up til bedtime.

 - To manage risk benefit assessment, navigation, food preparation, hygiene, leaving no trace and connecting to place

 - To be the primary first aider if treatment or management is necessary, but also responsible for implementation of preventative strategies like handwashing, sun protection, hydration, water treatment etc.

 - To assist the river guides and whitewater specialists during the on water activities (you would be accompanied by a Lead instructor who knew the river well and took charge on water, and another assistant guide)

$550 per day for 6:30am-9:30pm

Weekends and longer days honoured with above Miscellaneous award rates

Minimum qualifications: Cert IV Outdoor Recreation or equivalent Outdoor ed teaching degree, Leaders Wilderness First Aid, Swiftwater Rescue Level 2, Whitewater guide or equivalent qual.

Ideally: you have at least 2 years experience facilitating Outdoor education journeys. A love of water, enjoy working with young people (and dogs) and an ability to stay positive in the colder northern nsw winter.
